This house built in 2005 has been finished to the highest standard, the quality of the work is evident throughout, with exotic woods and only the best quality of appliances and fittings being used. It has also been designed to be “Feng Shui” and has been built and decorated in an ecologically sympathetic manner. It is just 100 metres from the shores of Lake Geneva and from the windows and garden you have a wonderful view of the lake and Switzerland beyond. It is set in just over 1500m2 garden, which includes some area laid to lawn with some well established olive and pine trees. The garden is fully enclosed and has electric gates to the front. There is also a large terrace of 130m2 set into which there is a lovely heated swimming pool and has an outside hot and cold shower. Moving inside, there is a spacious hallway with fitted cupboards to tuck away the clutter and keep this home as minimal as you choose, it then opens into a fantastic kitchen area which is fitted with the highest quality appliances including two ovens, a large hob with built in BBQ, there is an island into which is fitted the dishwasher. Moving on through the dining area with space for a large table and there are patio doors out onto the terrace and pool. Down two steps you arrive in the lounge (which is still open plan but the different level gives the large expanse a feeling of different areas. This area has a chimney insert which I am told is highly efficient at heating this space. I cannot possibly do this wonderful space justice. It is of double height with light flooding in from all sides. It really is fantastic! The main living areas are all on one level and there is a WC which services the main living area, then a corridor off of which you have first two bedrooms which are good sized doubles, both with quality fitted wardrobes and one has access onto the terrace and pool areas. In between the two bedrooms is a lovely fitted bathroom with Jacuzzi style bath, fitted double sinks and toilet. Then you arrive at the end of the house and the master suite which includes a really spacious double bedroom with patio doors to the pool and a huge picture window to take in the fabulous views. There are also good sized fitted wardrobes and another beautiful bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, separate shower, toilet and double fitted sink units. Out through a door by the front door there is a space for the washing machine and tumble dryer, then down the stairs you arrive at the basement which has a large room with heating which would be suitable perhaps for a playroom/office or occasional bedroom, a cave (wine cellar), storage room which contains the fuel container and water softener equipment, a spacious double garage/workshop with sink and double electric doors out onto the double covered parking area. Messery is a very popular village due in part to its lake side position and everything that offers but also due to its distance from the Swiss border and Geneva beyond. It takes about 10 minutes to the border at Hermance and there are excellent public transport links for those looking to commute. Within the village itself there are all the immediate amenities you need, including shops, doctors, schools and there is a larger town (Douvaine) just 5 minutes away for the larger supermarkets and high school. Also nearby you have some of the well known ski resorts including Les Gets, Morzine and Avoriaz being about 40 minutes away and Chamonix an hour away. There is skiing in the winter of course although the mountains are just as beautiful throughout the rest of the year and the area is awash with outdoors pursuits to suit everyone, including, skiing, sailing, paragliding, white-water rafting, horse-riding and much, much more. Getting there; There are excellent road links, with the motorway just 20 minutes away, Geneva benefits from a year-round international airport and the TGV also runs into the city.
